White Oak Crown ranges in colour, light brown sapwood to light tan/dark brown heartwood. The grain is usually straight, however it may be irregular or cross, depending upon growth conditions and the wood is coarse-textured.

The Crown Cut is sliced parallel to the growth rings. The result is a crown or “cathedral” figure, usually with a straight grain pattern on either side of the feature.
